Hello friends! I know it’s been a while since I posted on my blog. In fact, it’s been a year! Where has the time gone?! I hope you had a nice 2019. My year has been truly great. There are two main reasons I haven’t been posting on the blog. First, I’ve been working full-time and have spent most of my spare time exploring my new home (Edmonton, Alberta). I love living in Edmonton and have made so many good friends! Secondly, I’ve been working on an amazing project with my friend and fellow dietitian Audrey Inouye, and I’m so excited to finally share details!
Are you ready for it??!!! ……….
WE WROTE A LOW FODMAP COOKBOOK!!
That’s right! Our first cookbook is The 28-Day Plan for IBS Relief: 100 Simple Low FODMAP Recipes to Soothe Symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It is coming out December 31st 2019 and is now available for preorder. Here are links to Amazon and Indigo/Chapters. (Note: this post includes amazon affiliate links). If you can’t wait until the 31st, the e-book version on Amazon is already available for download!
We are both so proud of this cookbook. We had a whirlwind summer writing and testing recipes, and I’m so grateful we finally get to share it with you! We are the first Canadian dietitians to publish a low FODMAP cookbook with a major publishing company (Rockridge Press). I feel so honoured to be given this opportunity to help others like me who have IBS.
If you know anyone who is interested in digestive health or IBS, please let them know about this resource. The book has 100 delicious and simple recipes, plus a 28-day meal plan to help soothe IBS symptoms. Thank you to anyone who supports us by preordering the book or sharing the link!

Soothe your symptoms, enjoy your life―a meal plan for IBS relief
If IBS has diminished your love of food, there’s good news―it doesn’t have to be that way. Satisfy your palate and relieve your symptoms with The 28-Day Plan for IBS Relief. More than just creative recipes, this one-month plan takes a low-FODMAP diet approach to accommodating your specific food tolerances so you can thrive with a personalized diet.
You’ll start with understanding the science behind how your gut works through informative lessons about personal thresholds and serving sizes. Then you’ll take advantage of the helpful charts and tables that make shopping for FODMAP-friendly groceries and preparing yummy meals for your new IBS diet, fast and delicious.
The 28-Day Plan for IBS Relief includes:
Plan it out―A thorough, 4-week guide takes the stress out of every meal with no more guessing which foods might trigger IBS symptoms.
Read up―Learn how to quickly scan labels for high FODMAP ingredients so you know exactly what you’re eating.
Track progress―Use dedicated journaling space to make notes on what you love, or jot down any recipe tweaks for future reference.
We made sure that all 100 recipes are delicious and easy to make. I’ll be able to share a few recipes from the book on my blog in the upcoming months, but most of the recipes will be exclusive to the book!
Hope you have a wonderful holiday season,
P.S. Another way you can help support us is by sharing this post on social media! You can help others learn that there is a way to soothe IBS symptoms!

Lauren, I can’t wait to pick up your new cookbook! Have you heard of individuals acquiring IBS after bowel resection caused by a strangulated hernia. I have constipation for a couple of days followed by a day of making almost 7 – 8 trips to the bathroom. I will be okay for a few days and then repeat the pattern. Have you had clients who have had a similar surgery that now have IBS symptoms?
With appreciation, Jennifer
